Wallet safety

What we never ask for, and how to stay safe.

Market Compass is read-only by default. You can scan any token without connecting anything. This page says exactly where that line is.

What Market Compass never asks for
  • A seed phrase or private key. Never, for any reason. If any page or message claiming to be us asks for it, it is a scam.
  • A wallet to scan. Scanning a token needs only its contract address. No sign-in, no wallet, no account.
  • Blanket token approvals. We never ask you to approve unlimited spending of your tokens.
  • Payment to scan. Every network gets free scans each day. Extra credits are paid only on our own Credits page, never in a DM or on another site.
Six habits that stop most losses
  • Use a separate wallet for new tokens. Keep savings in a wallet you never connect to unknown sites. Fund the trading wallet with only what you can lose.
  • Check the contract address, not the name. Copies of a ticker are common. Compare the address with the project's own channel before you buy.
  • Read what you sign. A swap shows an amount and a router. A prompt that says approve all, set approval for all, or sign a message you cannot read is a reason to stop.
  • Revoke old approvals. After a trade, remove token approvals with a revoke tool for your chain. Old approvals are how drainers work.
  • Treat a perfect score as one input. A clear verdict means the checks we ran found no red flags. It is not a guarantee and not financial advice.
  • Never trust a direct message. Support staff, airdrop offers and urgent warnings that arrive in DMs are the usual start of a wallet drain.

Connecting a wallet or signing in does not move funds. Buying credits requires a separate SOL transaction that shows the amount and recipient in your wallet. Only approve a payment you intend to make.
